Project description

Project A03 focuses on the establishment of the first model of autoimmune adrenalitis. Autoimmune adrenalitis is the primary reason for adrenal insufficiency. It is caused by autoreactive immune cells resulting from disruption of immune tolerance. The planned model would be of major importance in understanding the disease pathophysiology. We aim at engaging this model to understand the relevance of different autoimmune mechanisms in disease pathogenesis.

Aims

(I) Generate and characterise in detail the experimental autoimmune adrenalitis (EAA) model.
(II) Understand underlying auto-immune mechanisms of EAA.
(III) Study the role of immunomodulatory interventions in the context of EAA.
